Over at ‘Down with Tyranny‘ there’s a post on Michael Moore’s latest, ‘Sicko’ with a personalized movie review. Some time ago I had Showtime for a bit and saw ‘Damaged Care‘ with Laura Dern that a dramatization of a physician, Linda Peeno, M.D., who takes a position with Humana Health Care.

Michael Moore was a guest on PBS’s ‘Now’ on Friday just past. There’s a few links at the bottom of the page with a couple of video reports highlighting similar circumstances. PERRspectives also has some pertinent links relevant to any dicussion regarding the accuracy of “ the U.S. health care system and the plight of insured middle class American” from their archives as well as some comparative studies of U.S. health care versus that in other countries.

A couple of other interesting medical information sites I ran across were Revolution Health, and from Informationista, points to a site for health-care journalists.

There are approximately 300 or so new laws which go into effect today; some, according to the official page, went into effect immediately or on an earlier date. Per the official bill page:

ENGLISH – OFFICIAL LANGUAGE – Amends existing law to declare English to be the official state language; to provide that English is the sole language of government, subject to exceptions; to provide that specified actions shall be in English, subject to exceptions; to provide exceptions; to provide for the return of specified funds to the state General Fund; to provide duties for state agencies; to provide duties for the State Controller; to provide the State Board of Education rulemaking authority governing the use of foreign languages in the public schools; and to provide for recognition of specified constitutional rights.

We could have had this instead…..
